It was revealed a few hours back that Fox had secretly laid an egg in the chest of IGN – and today, the vessel burst!

Inside? a new series based on the “Alien” series – or more specifically, one of the recent video games based on it – that combines cut scenes from “Alien : Isolation” with a new story that gives a thicker back-bone to the Amanda Ripley character.

“Alien : Isolation – The Digital Series” has just premiered! You can watch all 7 episodes below!

Running seven episodes, the sci-fi horror offering follows the events of Ellen Ripley’s grown daughter as she searches for answers about her mother.

“It’s been fifteen years since Amanda Ripley’s mother disappeared aboard the deep space towing ship Nostromo. And for fifteen years, Amanda has suspected there was more to her mother’s story than meets the eye.”

While there have been all sorts of rumors pertaining to new “Alien” movies in recent months, the “Isolation” series is the first one to come to fruition – but maybe the interest in it will demonstrate to the suits how much of an appetite there is for more in the world, particularly if it’s produced by James Cameron.

Last we heard Fox’s long-long-delayed “New Mutants” movie had been commissioned for some extensive reshoots, after which the studio would finally release the movie. But with no start date on those reshoots, and a film seemingly just sitting on the shelves to gather dust, one wonders whether the film will even get a release at all?

Short answer : Yes, it will get a release – it just mightn’t be the theatrical release “X-Men” fans, and those involved in the Josh Boone-directed ‘horror’ film, were originally anticipating.

According to Vanity Fair, “The New Mutants” looks to be somewhat of a ‘casualty’ of the Disney-Fox merger, with all signs pointing to a small-screen premiere for the film on Disney’s upcoming streaming service. With Disney planning to reboot the “X-Men” franchise shortly, the studio have no further plans for “New Mutants” beyond the release, and considering their obvious lack of faith in the film, seem convinced that a Disney+ premiere is the best way to go.

Reshoots for the film would’ve reportedly involved adding “Logan” heroine X-23 to the cast of characters in the film.

The movie, conceived of as the first in a trilogy, stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, and Alice Braga. In it, a group of young mutants held in a secret facility fight to save themselves. Boone wrote the script with Knate Lee.

The film was originally due for release in March 2018.

“The New Mutants” is currently skedded for an August theatrical release in both the US and Australia.

Exclusive : The Ewoks will return!

A small-screen series featuring the Empire-hating creatures could be on the way

Is it the Endor or just the beginning?

Unless the wi-fi has been playing up in the Cantina, you’ll be aware that Disney’s streaming channel Disney + are about to ‘force’ a couple of new “Star Wars” related series on us – most notably, the recently wrapped “The Mandalorian” (which is apparently terrific), from EP Jon Favreau.

And it won’t end there, with the house of mouse and the house of Kennedy already secretly working on other “Star Wars” projects that’ll premiere on the small screen.
One of those upcoming may feature the return of the Ewoks.

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the pint-sized moon creatures are one of the most recognizable species in the “Star Wars” universe. And with Disney+ not just in the business of making shows for us, older “Star Wars” fans, but also the excitable younglings, it should be no surprise to hear that a new Ewoks series is being discussed.

The news of the Empire-hating Ewoks’ return to the screen – which comes courtesy a reputable insider, someone who has also provided us with extra info on a scoop we ran last week on “The Quarry” to star Michael Shannon and Shea Whigham, which we’ll run soon – will no doubt be music to the ears of toy retailers, who’ll likely sell furballs in the millions once the show hits. It’s unlikely to be part of the first phase of “Star Wars” shows, which are rumored to kick off around Halloween, but could be part of the second run, rumored to launch in the next 12-18 months.

The Ewoks made their debut in “Return of the Jedi” on the bigscreen before getting their own solo outing in 1984 telemovie “The Ewok Adventure” (aka “Caravan of Courage”). A second telemovie “Battle for Endor” aired in 1985. That same year ABC premiered the popular animated series “Ewoks”, which ran for two seasons.
