West playing Isabelle Lightwood in The Mortal Instruments

Jemima West, of “The Borgias”, has been slotted into the acne-free cast of “The Mortal Instruments”, based on the book series of the same name.

French-born West, whose other only major feature is Luc Besson’s “Joan of Arc” (1999), is playing Isabelle Lightwood in the teen-skewed drama.

The brunette (hello hair dye!) was approved by director Harold Zwart over Aussie Phoebe Tonkin (“Tomorrow When The War Began”), who was also in the running.

“The Mortal Instuments : City of Bones” has already snagged Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower to play and Clary and Jace respectively and will announce further casting news shortly.
