What Pepper Potts’ exit after Avengers : Endgame means for Tony Stark…

…. well, we can guestimate, but golly, I sure as heck hope I’m off base.

Still, you only need do a crawl around Twitter to see what folks are saying about the guts of the “Avengers : Endgame” plot, let alone the absence of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man in the next “Spider-Man”, and make the connection yourself.

Again, hopefully we’re off here.

Anywho, Gwyneth Paltow confirmed in an interview with Variety today that her Pepper Potts, fiancee of one Tony Stark and CEO of Stark Industries, will be leaving the Marvel universe.  Sniffle. Dang. Considering Tony Stark/Iron Man is still a prime fixture of the films, that’s quite a surprise….

Here’s the exact quote from Paltrow :

“I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point. I feel very lucky that I did it, because I actually got talked into it. I was friends with [Iron Man director] Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first Iron Man and then to watch how important it has become to fans.”

Prior to Paltrow, Chris Evans announced that he too will be exiting the superhero universe after “Avengers : Endgame”, ending a 10-year-run as Captain America.
