How about the son of the original director?
Word is that Jason Reitman has been tapped for the next “Ghostbusters” installment, which has begun moving at Sony Pictures. Reitman’s father is Ivan, who directed the first two “Ghostbusters” films.
According to ‘insiders’, Variety reports that the film will be a continuation of the 1984 sequel and will not be connected to the 2016 film (YAY).
Sources couldn’t say if that means that the original cast members will be back, as exact story details are still being kept under wraps but sources say Reitman has begun testing teenagers for four mystery roles.
Given the disappointment of the 2016 all-female reboot, fans will likely be excited to see the torch being passed back within the Reitman family.
