Williams out, Chastain in on Scenes from a Marriage

Jessica Chastain has stepped in for Michelle Williams on “Scenes from a Marriage”, an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s 1970s miniseries.

The “It” actress was brought in to star alongside Oscar Isaac in the drama following Williams’ exit over scheduling difficulties.

Hagai Levi (”In Treatment”) is adapting and directing the limited series, which “will reexamine the original miniseries’ iconic depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple”.

Isaac and Chastain, who previously co-starred in “A Most Violent Year”, play the couple.
