Hot on the heels of his box office smash “Logan”, Hugh Jackman is now in talks to play Italian automobile icon Enzo Ferrari in Michael Mann’s upcoming flick “Ferrari”.
“Ferrari” will be set in 1957, a key year in Enzo Ferrari’s life, in which his battle for supremacy against rival Maserati came to head. The movie is expected to begin production in the summer of 2018, and will largely focus on the fiery relationship between Ferrari and his estranged wife Linda – who could be played by Noomi Rapace.
It’s been a long-winded project, with Mann and the late director Sydney Pollack starting on nearly 17 years ago. Christian Bale backed out of the film 2 years ago due to health concerns relating to weight gain – which of course will not be a problem for buff-man Jackman, who until recently probably hadn’t eaten a carb since the 90s.
