X-Men star aboard Walking Tall 2

And “Walking Tall 3”, for that matter

Haley Ramm, who plays Young Jean Grey in the so-close-I-can-hear-your-feet-stomping “X-Men: The Last Stand”, has snagged a lead role in the two new direct-to-video sequels to “Walking Tall”.

Though marketed as sequels, the films will effectively tell a different yarn to the first film, which starred The Rock as Buff. Kevin Sorbo plays the lead character, an ex-NAVY seal named Nick Prescott who goes up against some fatherland ruffians.

The sequels, reportedly being shot back-to-back, will lens in Dallas. Andrew Stevens (“The Whole Nine Yards”) will produce.

If Sony hears a few ca-chings on the cash registers as a result of the film’s success on DVD, they might consider a spin-off TV series.

A number of direct-to-video sequels in development at the moment, actually, including “American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile”, “The Dukes of Hazzard 2”, “Wrong Turn 2”, “Pumpkinhead 3”, “Save the Last Dance 2” and “Bring it On Yet Again”.
