If 2023 seems a bit lacking for Marvel Studios, it could be that their saving their big bucks and winning cards up for a couple of years down the track – when they push out their starry, Avengers : Secret Wars movie.
This one, like Infinity War and Endgame, will feature heroes from across the Marvel universe (yep, the multiverse too) teaming up to take down Jonathan Major’s evil Kang (or, in this case, a variant of him – The Bystander), the key villain of the next crop of the studio’s movies.
Per My Time to Shine Hello, while characters like Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Raimi-era Spider-Man will appear in the film, the main heroes will be the ‘New Avengers’ line-up.
In addition to the mega ensemble of new faces and returning players, the most surprising addition of all – Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr back in the role. There’s been rumblings of a Tony Stark return for a while (likely one from another universe), but the aforesaid insider says it’s likely this is the film he’s returning for first.
Avengers : Secret Wars, releasing May 1, 2026, will follow Avengers : The Kang Dynasty, releasing May 2, 2025.
