Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Insherin, The Batman) is in negotiations to join Paul Mescal (Aftersun) in Gladiator 2 at Paramount.

Ridley Scott is returning to direct the follow-up to the Russell Crowe starring classic, with David Scarpa (All the Money in the World) penning the script.

Pascal will play Lucius, son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen) and nephew to Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), with Keoghan playing a character named Emperor Geta.
