Screen Media, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment company, announced today the acquisition of Worldwide rights to the documentary The Mandela Effect: Fact or Fiction? The documentary is directed by veteran FOX Network and NBC Universal investigative producer Robert Kiviat, best known for his hit FOX network specials Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction? and UFOs: The Best Evidence Ever Caught on Tape. Screen Media is planning an April 2024 on-demand release.The Mandela Effect: Fact or Fiction? explores the phenomenon in which masses of people have the same false memory. The phenomenon has exploded in popularity on YouTube and TikTok with close to a billion video views on the subject. The term originated in 2009 when many people said they clearly remembered news reports of Nelson Mandela dying in prison long before his actual death in 2013. The documentary explores evidence that could support why an estimated 50% of the population adamantly say they remember things from the past being different or inexplicably changed. The documentary will also delve into research findings that conclusively show people are not simply misremembering, as skeptics maintain.“The Mandela Effect has made people want to know if history is being altered,” said director Robert Kiviat. “Whether it’s malicious advanced intelligence or even the result of computer code glitches in a simulation Elon Musk says he’s certain we all live in, our team looks into all the possible causes of this phenomenon.”

Paramount+ today announced that the new docuseries “The Family Stallone”, starring Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone, wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone and daughters Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet, will premiere exclusively on the service Wednesday, May 17 in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Brazil. The series will also premiere on Thursday, May 18 in the U.K., Australia and Italy, with further international markets to follow.

Paramount+ and CBS Studios today announced that fans will have the opportunity to screen the final two episodes of “Star Trek : Picard”, including the highly anticipated series finale, at special IMAX Live screenings on Wednesday, April 19 in 10 participating IMAX theaters across North America, one day before the finale is available to stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. on Thursday, April 20. The screenings will be free to attend and fans can sign up and register at http://startrekpicardfinalescreenings.com on Wednesday, April 12 at 10:00 AM, PT/1:00 PM, ET. There will be an exclusive final season poster giveaway and complimentary concessions for fans in attendance. The special IMAX Live fan screenings will take place at 10 participating IMAX theaters in Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Orlando, Washington, D.C., Atlanta and Dallas.
Fans in attendance will also be treated to an exclusive live Q&A immediately following the screening with series stars Patrick Stewart, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Terry Matalas. The Q&A will be broadcast live from an in-person panel occurring at the Los Angeles screening, which also serves as the series’ official Emmy “For Your Consideration” event.
