Hamm and Goldblum join movie musicals

One started as a movie, the other started as a play

Jon Hamm (Top Gun : Maverick) and Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic World : Fallen Kingdom) have boarded two high-profile movie musicals.

Hamm will play Coach Carr in the Mean Girls movie musical headed to Paramount+ joining Angourie Rice as Cady and Reneé Rapp, playing Regina.

Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey,Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Avantika, Mahi Alam, Christopher Briney, Bebe Wood, Ashley Park and Connor Ratliff are also aboard Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr’s film. Fey, who wrote the Mean Girls movie and co-starred in the comedy classic, is writing the movie musical.

Meanwhile, Jeff Goldblum has confirmed a role in Paramount’s feature adaptation of the Broadway smash Wicked.

The Fly actor will star in the Jon M. Chu-directed film as the Wizard, confirming his role during Wednesday’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“I was just on this set of Wicked. I’m not supposed to talk about that, but it’s been out and about,” he said while talking about one time when he brought his two sons, River and Charlie, to set.

“You should see our witches, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, very good.”
