Scarlett Johansson will star in a series based on John Katzenbach’s 1992 novel Just Cause. Interestingly, the Black Widow star co-starred in the 1995 film version of it, alongside Sean Connery and Laurence Fishburne.
The Christy Hall written TV adaptation, which Johansson will also executive produce, has landed at Amazon Studios where it’ll debut on Prime Video.
According to Deadline, tn the TV adaptation, the book’s male protagonist, Miami newspaper editorial writer Matt Cowart, is undergoing a gender swap, with Johansson playing the series’ female lead Madison “Madi” Cowart, a struggling reporter for a Florida newspaper sent to cover the final days of an inmate on death row.
