Liam Neeson fired up for Gareth Evans’ remake of a ’90s classic

The ‘Ice Road’ and ‘Taken’ star will voice a lead character in the film

Liam Neeson, set to spend most of the remaining months of 2023 shooting a sequel to The Ice Road, will lend his lungs to director Gareth Evans’ remake of Dragonheart.

Like Sean Connery before him, the Schindler’s List actor will reportedly voice the dragon in the film, starring alongside Taron Egerton who will play a young knight who aids the dragon in fighting an “ancient evil”. In the original 1996 film, Dennis Quaid played an older, seasoned knight who formed with the dragon to take on the tyrant King Einon (David Thewlis).

A series of direct-to-DVD sequels to Dragonheart followed the Rob Cohen-directed original, offering Sir Ben Kingsley, Sir Patrick Stewart, and Helena Bonham Carter an op to voice dragons.
