Update : Variety confirmed the news today, stating that the new live-action How to Train Your Dragon will release in theaters March 14, 2025. Dean DeBlois, the writer/director of the original animated version, returns to direct.

Oscar Nominee Dean DeBlois writing and directing a live action version of his animated hit How to Train Your Dragon, which has spawned both sequels, spin-offs and a successful small-screen animated series.
The films, which tell the story of Hiccup and his adventures with Toothless and other dragons of Berk, featured the voices of Gerard Butler, Jay Baruchel, and Kristen Wiig.
The news, reported by Daniel RPK, is unconfirmed but no surprise to hear it’s in the works, sounds like easy money.
