Melrose Place returns with Locklear, Zuniga, and Leighton

One of their dearest friends dies suddenly and the OG residents of Melrose Place gather to honor the deceased

Another reboot of Melrose Place is on this way – again, with OG stars Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga, and Laura Leighton starring.

The series, expected to also feature several other original cast members from the Darren Starr created series, is set up at CBS Studios. Fox, who housed the original series, is in contention to broadcast.

Zuniga, who is also serving as a producer, will reprise her role as Jo Reynolds with Leighton back as Sydney Andrews and Locklear as Amanda Woodward.

Says EW, “According to the new series logline, when one of their dearest friends dies suddenly, the OG residents of Melrose Place gather to honor the deceased. But the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

A 2009 reboot of Melrose, over at The CW, saw Leighton’s Sydney Andrews murdered within the pilot’s first few minutes. This new version will reportedly not consider that incarnation canon.
