Oscar winner McDormand rumored for Blade Runner 2099

Ridley Scott is executive producing and directing several episodes of the series

Not only is Jodie Comer ostensibly still in talks for the upcoming “Blade Runner 2099” series that Ridley Scott and Silka Luisa are doing over at Amazon but Oscar winner Frances McDormand might be joining her. Per Daniel RPK, the Fargo and Women Talking actress would play one of two lead roles, opposite Comer, on the continuation of the movie franchise.

Jodie Comer (Free Guy,, The White Princess) is reportedly in talks to reunite with her Last Duel director Ridley Scott on the new ”Blade Runner” TV series, per Daniel RPK.

Scott, who is executive producing and will direct several episodes of ”Blade Runner 2099”, hatched a deal with Amazon Studios early 2022 to bring the franchise to the small screen.

Silka Luisa wrote ”Blade Runner 2099” and will act as showrunner.

“The original ‘Blade Runner’ film, directed by Ridley Scott, is considered one of the greatest and most influential science-fiction movies of all time, and we’re excited to introduce ‘Blade Runner 2099’ to our global Prime Video customers,” said Vernon Sanders, head of global television, Amazon Studios in a statement in 2022.

“We are honored to be able to present this continuation of the ‘Blade Runner’ franchise, and are confident that by teaming up with Ridley, Alcon Entertainment, Scott Free Productions, and the remarkably talented Silka Luisa, ‘Blade Runner 2099’ will uphold the intellect, themes, and spirit of its film predecessors.”
