The long-gestating Twins sequel, Triplets, which would’ve reunited Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny De Vito is no longer on the cards.

The project had been inching before the cameras in 2022, with Tracy Morgan set to join the cast as a third brother to the original stars, but understandably stalled when director Ivan Reitman sadly passed away.

In an all encompassing interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Schwarzenegger says Jason Reitman, Ivan Reitman’s son and the director of Ghostbusters : Afterlife, killed the project.

“Jason Reitman f*cked it up! Jason Reitman literally stopped the project when his father died. His father wanted to do it really badly. I wanted to do it really badly. Danny DeVito wanted to do it really badly. We had the financing. When his father passed away, Jason says, “I never liked the idea” and put a hold on it. I’m developing another movie with Danny; he’s so much fun to work with and so talented.”

Schwarzenegger is currently on the promo trail for his new Netflix series FUBAR, premiering May 25.
