Scream 6 is officially a go

Following the immediate success of the recent sequel of “Scream” – “Scream 5” but also just called “Scream” – another sequel has been announced, with “Scream 6” confirmed with Paramount and Spyglass.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct again, with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick will also return, to write the script. Production is set to begin in the middle of the year.

“We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film. We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie & Guy and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family” Spyglass and Paramount said in a joint statement.

The “Scream” franchise has been a huge hit since its debut in 1996, with the most recent film earning more than $100m globally.
