The Black Phone 2
“Franchises are started by original movies like Megan and Black Phone”, Blumhouse’s Jason Blum said at today’s Universal’s presentation at CinemaCon in Vegas. The famed producer then told punters that they can expect sequels to both of those hit films.
The sequel to M3gan opens January 17, 2025 but Blum didn’t reveal anything about The Black Phone 2 and how far along it is.
The Exorcist : Believer
As part of the Universal presentation today at CinemaCon, Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and Halloween Ends director David Gordon Green took to the stage to present a new trailer for The Exorcist : Believer.

Alien 5
Neil Blomkamp’s on-again off-again on-again off-again Alien 5 project will seemingly never see the light of day. That’s according to Sigourney Weaver who tells that she was very interested in collaborating with the District 9 helmer on the film – said to be a direct sequel to 1986’s Aliens – but the powers-that-be ostensibly didn’t share their passion for the project.
In a new interview with Total Film, the Avatar actress said she’s hanging up Ellen Ripley’s gun.“There are all kinds of younger actors taking this kind of role. And there was an Alien [film] that I really wanted to do with Neill Blomkamp, and we didn’t get to do that, but, you know, that ship has sailed. I’m very happy doing what I’m doing. I put in my time in space!”
Meantime, Fede Alvarez took to Twitter today to release a behind-the-scenes pic from his upcoming Alien film.
