Stallone’s Samaritan lands a December 2020 release

MGM and Sylvester Stallone have teamed for “Samaritan”, which has Julius Avery at the helm. Based on an original idea, “Samaritan” centres on young boy who is out to discover if a mythic superhero, who vanished 20 years earlier following a tragic event, is still alive.

It’s Stallone’s next starring vehicle, and MGM have set a release date of December 11, 2020. Originally set to be released around Thanksgiving 2020, the film’s move was due to needing more time for production, reports Deadline.

Screenwriter is “Escape Room’s” Bragi F. Schut. Stallone and Balboa Productions partner Braden Aftergood is producing as the first project for their company. Schut will serve as EP.
