Star Wars series fixing on John Boyega’s Finn in the works

J.D. Dillard and Matt Owens, who were mentioned as working on an unspecific “Star Wars” project last year, are said to be the show’s writers.

John Boyega’s ‘Finn’ is reportedly getting his own standalone “Star Wars” series at Disney+.

Fans were disappointed that Boyega, who portrayed the former stormtrooper in “The Force Awakens” and its two sequels, didn’t get much of an arc, especially after the build-up, so this might a nifty consolation prize.

According to a rumour first landing at That Hashtag Show, a new series fixing on Finn’s story before he joined the First Order, and polished Kylo Ren’s boots, could be in the works at the streamer.

Says the site, “Plot details are light but we we’re told that John Boyega will return as Finn. the series would explore his back story, including how he came to be in the First Order. It would also show where the character is going in a post-Rise Of Skywalker world. The plot in the future will have ties and share a villain with his past; although no further info is available at this time. This series could be a replacement for the Rangers of the Republic series that’s gone by the wayside.”
