Top Gun 3 in the works with Cruise, Teller, Powell

The sequel would also retain the involvement of Joseph Kosinski

Monica Barbaro and Tom Cruise on the set of Top Gun: Maverick from Paramount Pictures, Skydance and Jerry Bruckheimer Films.

Tom Cruise – as well as Miles Teller and Glen Powell – is said to be returning to the cockpit for a sequel to 2022’s Top Gun : Maverick.

Per Puck, Ehren Kruger, who co-wrote the recent sequel to the 1986 film, is “officially at work” on a script for the project, which Paramount hopes to retain Joseph Kosinski for – if even just as a producer, should his dance card be full.

The news comes hot on the heels of trade reports announcing Cruise’s new venture with Warner Bros, where the actor-producer will be jointly developing and producing original franchise theatrical films.
