TV fave offered starring role in Paddington threequel

Ben Whishaw is back as the voice of Paddington in the film, which reportedly begins filming at the end of July

Pedro Pascal (“The Last of Us”, “The Mandalorian”) has been offered the role of the villain in Paddington in Peru, Dougal Wilson’s highly anticipated second sequel to the very popular family films from across the pond.

The news hails from the oft-reliable Giant Freakin Robot who reminds us that Pascal actually played a character who adored one of the Paddington films in a recent film.

It seems possible — if not very, very likely — that the inspiration to contact Pedro Pascal to play the villain of Paddington 3 is the overwhelming love his character gives its predecessor, 2017’s Paddington 2, in last year’s The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Pascal plays billionaire Javi who pays Nick Cage (Nicolas Cage) a cool million to attend his birthday party. Javi adores Paddington 2 — as did most critics and audiences — and gives Cage the actor’s first ever viewing of the sequel.

Ben Whishaw is back as the voice of Paddington in the film, which reportedly begins filming at the end of July – at which time Pascal could potentially have shot his scenes for Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2.
