The cast of the upcoming “Uncle Buck”, a small-screen take on the popular John Hughes movie, will be all black.
Showbiz411 reports that Buck and his family will be African-American.
Casting breakdowns obtained by the site indicate that ABC is looking for an actor in his late 20’s, early 30s, African American, “he’s a wild and free-wheeling force of nature who has managed to lose every job and every girlfriend he’s ever had, but who still flies through life by the seat of his pants, never knowing what tomorrow will bring.”
John Candy played the role in the film.
EW has confirmed the news, adding their pick for the role : Damon Wayans Jr (who apparently passed on CBS’s “Rush Hour”).
