Uncle Buck returns to TV!?

Wait.. didn’t they already do this!?
Yes.. yes they did.

But then, TVs “Parenthood” has also been a series before, and I believe that talking dog and investigator-on-crack that get around in a green van have also been on screens prior to that “Mystery Incorporated” toon.

A good idea is a good idea, no matter how many times it’s been done.

But then there’s “Uncle Buck” the TV show.

Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy the film – but it had John Hughes, John Candy, a fun, original concept, and Macaulay Culkin in his pre-annoying phase. The new series won’t (and neither did the first series incarnation). It’ll have a laugh-track, some non-descript fat guy, and cornball lines. And you know it.

Deadline says ABC has the show in development. Noboody of note really involved; not anyone who can turn the thing into something worth Tivoing anyway.

Apple TV, please list this one under the “didn’t get picked up” tab.
