Adam Driver attached to star in Heat 2

Would play the younger version of De Niro’s character

As previously rumoured, Adam Driver’s deal to play a young Neil McCauley in Michael Mann’s sequel to Heat is firming up.

Per Deadline, the 65 actor would play the younger version of the character Robert De Niro played in the 1995 film. Sources tell the outlet Warner Bros is in negotiations to fund the development of the project, but Arnon Milchan’s New Regency – who co-financed the original- aren’t yet involved (they’ll have first dibs at co-financing should the project move forward).

The outlet adds that rumors suggesting Al Pacino, reprising Vincent Hanna, and Ana De Armas, playing Macaulay’s lover, are also involved have yet to be confirmed.

Heat 2, penned by Mann and Meg Gardiner, tells the story of everything that happens before and after to the principal characters. The film is expected to be the Ferrari director’s next movie.
