Amber Heard in talks for Aquaman

Amber Heard is getting wet.

Johnny Depp’s quilt sharer is in talks to play the female lead in “Aquaman”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

If a deal is made, the actress will make her first appearance in “Justice League” alongside her fishy friend, Aquaman, played by Jason Momoa.

Heard, whose varied credits include “The Rum Diary” and “Drive Angry 3D”, will play the title character’s love interest, Mera – who goes on to be the queen of Atlantis. Like Aquaman, Mera has some powers on her own, like the ability to control and solidify water.

“Insidious” director James Wan will direct the film. At present, there’s two scripts being developed concurrently for the film – one is by “300” alum Kurt Johnstad, the other by David Leslie Johnson, of Wan’s “The Conjuring 2”.

“Justice League” is set to lens November 17, 2017. “Aquaman” will be out July 27, 2018.

Justice League is set to begin shooting in April and is slated for a Nov. 17, 2017, release date. Aquaman is due to hit shore eight months later on July 27, 2018.
