Aquaman ticket pre-sales go through the roof!

In it’s first day of ticket sales, Warner’s “Aquaman” eclipsed “Venom” and “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” in their first days of presales.

Fandango, who counted up the stubs sold, believes – despite the weak performance of the previous DC superhero movies, namely last year’s “Justice League” – there’s a real appetite for director James ‘Saw’ Wan’s “Aquaman”.

Says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis : “Not only does it appear to be the most ambitious DC Comics film to date from a visual effects perspective, but fans are anxious to see new female heroes played by Amber Heard and Nicole Kidman, as well as the first superhero film directed by the incredibly successful James Wan.”

Amazon announced this week that Amazon Prime members an exclusive early showing of “Aquaman” on Dec. 15 — six days before the rest of North America gets to check out Jason Momoa in the orange duds. The deal sees Prime members granted access to up to 10 tickets through Atom Tickets for a session at one of the more than 1,000 Regal, AMC, ArcLight Cinemas, and National Amusements theaters participating. “Aquaman” broke AtomTickets’ record for most presold tickets in the first day of sales.

“Aquaman” hits theaters December 21.
