Batman 3 news coming!

There’s such little “Batman 3” news around, we’re actually running a story on when we might expect “Batman 3 news”. Kinda incongruous, right?

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything solid on the next Batman movie – the follow-up to “The Dark Knight” – and that’s likely because Warner Bros are still trying to find a biro with enough ink to write out Chris Nolan’s corpulent cheque. Or are they? You see kids, it’s not set in stone that Nolan’s going to return for the new film – so there might be no need for anyone’s hand to get a pen blister.

The brit has mentioned in the past that he doesn’t know if he can’t top “The Dark Knight” – and let’s face it, he probably won’t – and he does seem much keener to work on some Gotham-less projects for a while (like his next, “Inception” – which, I’ll admit, looks sweeter than a cookies and cream thickshake). So don’t be at all surprised if Warner Bros is talking to some other cat about playing with the bat …

… and in January, we may find out who. Or, better still, that Nolan has agreed to come back.

Our friends at Batman-on-Film (Jett must be getting antsy waiting for some kind of announcement!) have heard that Warner Bros are likely to announce the new movie, and state who will be adorning the director’s chair, in a couple of month’s time.

If Nolan doesn’t return, he’ll likely stay on as a producer (just as Tim Burton did when Joel Schumacher replaced him as the director of “Batman Forever”), and hopefully have some sort of say (producers generally do ) in who’ll be taking his place – which means Len Wiseman likely won’t have his calls returned.
