“Star Wars” star gets it on with Amelia Earhart
Ewan McGregor will play Gore Vidal’s pap in “Amelia”, Mira Nair’s upcoming tale of mislaid Aviatrix’s and family feuds.
The pic, currently shooting in Toronto, fixes onn the legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart (Hilary Swank) and chronicles her rise to fame, marriage to publisher George Putnam (Richard Gere) and passionate affair with Gene Vidal (Ewan McGregor), father of author Gore Vidal. Virginia Madsen also appears in the flick.
Variety says the producers of “Amelia” have been trying to snag McGregor for a while, but due to scheduling commitments, he was unable to commit – until now (he’ll run back and forwards between this flick and “Angels & Demons”).
