Berg and Bateman join L.A Confidential 2

“Kingdom” stars will appear in Carnahan’s next

Peter Berg and Jason Bateman, two of the stars of the upcoming “The Kingdom”, will take part in the forthcoming “L.A Confidential” sequel “White Jazz”, director Joe Carnahan tells Rope of Silicon.

George Clooney will star in the film, based on James Ellroy’ss novel concerning a corrupt LAPD lieutenant assigned to a high-profile case just as his notoriously debauched department is singled out for investigation.

Meanwhile, Matthew Carnahan – Joe’s brother – has also cast Berg in “Lions for Lambs”, the new all-star drama featuring Robert Redford, Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep.

Brother Joe tells the site, “My brother did Lions for Lambs, which Redford is directing right now and Pete’s going to play the general in it, the colonel giving them the brief in the beginning”.

And with that, a couple of cool bits of casting info.
