“Black Swan” director looking for a studio to build his Ark

If the rumours are true, then “Black Swan” director Darren Aronofsky is shopping around for a studio to fund and make his next movie “Noah”, a re-worked version of the story of Noah’s Ark.

Deadline says he’s chasing a $130 million budget (a pretty big step up from $12m for “Black Swan”!) and New Regency is keen to put half of the money forward.

Naturally, the big studios are all putting out feelers to see if they’re keen for what’s expected to be a big fantasy epic, especially after he turned “Black Swan” into a huge box office success.

Let’s hope it’s worth someone paying up big for this one. But let’s be honest, “Noah” couldn’t be any worse than the last attempt to tell the  story of the ark in “Evan Almighty”, right?
