The Book of Henry on hold until 2017

Focus Features has delayed the release of director Colin Trevorrow’s “The Book of Henry” until next year.

Originally scheduled to open next month, the film has been pushed back to a limited release on June 16, 2017, before expanding in the lead up to the July 4th holiday.

According to Variety, the move comes with the hope “that the new date will give it more room to find its audience.” In it’s new slot, “The Book of Henry” will open against “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” and “Cars 3”, but no other indie dramas.

Naomi Watts, Jacob Tremblay and Jaeden Lieberher star in the film with Sarah Silverman, Dean Norris and Lee Pace. It centres on a single mother raising a child genius.

Gregg Hurwitz wrote the screenplay.
