Bush to play Wonder Woman?

“One Tree Hill” star could be in talks

If she’s not trying to ride her own pony or increase her rank at IMDBPro, Sophia Bush may indeed be our first ‘official’ contender for the role of “Wonder Woman” in Joss Whedon’s super-spiffy big-screen redo. Well, at least this rumour sounds like it’s got some meat to accompany its vegies, anyway.

IESB.net says they recently recieved a tip suggesting that the “One Tree Hill” star – soon to feature in the unnecessary remake of “The Hitcher” – is up for the role of the Amazonian Princess in Warner’s tentpoler.

This past week, they had the chance to ask Bush – you may remember, she was the girl that was fired a couple of weeks into “Terminator 3” and replaced by Claire Danes – about the rumours (that they had decided not to print, until they had investigated further).

According to the site, Bush didn’t deny the rumours at all, simply meshing a “Maybe” with a smile.

Sounds to me like – well, unless she’s yanking her own chain, as I said – like Whedon may have set his sights on a girly for the lead role. She is, after all, the perfect age for the role and just enough of a fresh face, which is what the writer/director’s been chasing.

Charisma Carpenter, Morena Baccarin and Jessica Biel were also said to be in the running.

Long ways off, but sounds like you can officially push Bush’s name to the top of the contender list.

Flash a-ah!
