Carpenter responds to Big Trouble remake announcement

"Big Trouble in Little China" (1986)

As exciting as it is that “Big Trouble in Little China” and Jack Burton are returning to cinemas, it won’t be with Kurt Russell in the role (instead, Dwayne Johnson is being passed the..truck) and original director John Carpenter won’t be directing.

Sadly, Carpenter won’t be involved at all.

The famed director was asked on Facebook whether he was involved in the redo of the 1986 classic and sadly… well, here’s the answer :

“I only know what I read in the papers. I am not involved with it…I’m doing fine. I didn’t write the original one – no harm, no foul.”

Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are penning the new “Big Trouble”.
