“Dark Knight Rises” star Gary Oldman and former “Lost” star Dominic Monaghan have joined the cast of Doug Rath’s biopic on Roy Fontaine, ““a bisexual jewel thief/con man/serial killer who chronicles his personal descent into darkness leading up to his eventual capture.” Malcolm McDowell plays Fontaine. Anne Hathaway is in talks to star in and produce an indie about ”a young woman who returns home after her brother is injured and romantically connects with his favorite musician, who draws inspiration from the siblings.” Marc Platt and Jonathan Demme, who previously worked with Hathaway on “Rachel Getting Married”, would produce. Gemma Arterton (“Clash of the Titans”, “Quantum of Solace”) will join Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake in the gambling drama. The Brit actress will play Affleck’s love interest. (Variety)

Cedar Cove

Andie MacDowell (“Footloose”) will star in the new Hallmark series which “centers on the residents of the small town of Cedar Cove. MacDowell will play Judge Olivia Lockhart, whose Cedar Cove Municipal Court is the professional milieu and social microcosm of issues the judge will face in her own day-to-day life with family and friends.” The network will screen the pilot as a two-hour telemovie before kicking off the series (Deadline)

Hatchet III

Zach Galligan (“Gremlins”), Cody Blue Snider and Rileah Vanderbilt on the second sequel to the horror flick “Hatchet”. Filming is underway in New Orleans on the movie, starring Danielle Harris and Derek Mears. The pic “finds Harris hunting down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left Crowley’s ghost terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.” (Bloody Disgusting)
