Sinise heads to TV, Paramount takes membership at “The Club”, Ali Larter nabs a lead role….those pesky titbits await.

  • Gary Sinise has now signed on the dotted line to star in CBS’ “CSI: New York”. His character will be introduced in a future episode of “CSI Miami”

  • Paramount Pictures will do “The Club”, centring on the fictional George Washington Carver Country Club in Compton. The facility’s owner attempts to solve its financial problems by luring a pro golf event, sparking a fight between his son and a local hustler. They tried to get this one off the ground last year.

  • Scott Derrickson will direct "The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel," A true story about the demonic possession of an 18-year-old German college freshman. During her exorcism, the young woman died, and a priest stood trial for causing her death.

  • Ali Larter [“Final Destination”] will play the title role in “Marigold: An Adventure in India”, a musical comedy about an American actress who goes to India and gets caught up in the eccentric world of Bollywood.

  • Gabrielle Union [“Bring it On”] will star in “32 and Single” about a New York businesswoman on the corporate fast track who has to earn her stripes by going to New Ulm, Minnesota, to oversee the closing of a factory. She ends up re-evaluating her big-city values in a fish-out-of-water.

  • Heather Paige-Kent, Gina Gershon [“Bound”] and Debbie Mazar [“Absolute Power”] have tested for the role of Joey’s sister Gina on TV’s “Joey”, says Dark Horizons.

  • Connie Nielsen is replacing Monica Bellucci as the female lead in “The Ice Harvest”, a Harold Ramis-directed black comedy for Focus Features that stars John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton.

  • Columbia Pictures and Red Wagon are bringing the novel “Sammy’s Hill”, a first novel by Kristin Gore, daughter of the former U.S. vice president Al Gore, to the big screen. The novel chronicles the life of a young woman who tries to balance a job as a congressional aide on Capitol Hill with the desire to find the right guy.

  • Thirteen-year-old Little JJ – best known for his stint on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ and for winning the "Coming to the Stage" comedy competition – will star in “Beauty Shop” for MGM with Queen Latifah.

  • Mary-Louise Parker and Christopher Walken have joined James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon, Mandy Moore and Kate Winslet in the United Artists’ musical comedy “Romance and Cigarettes”, written and to be directed by John Turturro. The film follows a cheating blue-collar husband who is forced to choose between his sexy mistress and his put-upon wife.

  • Enrique Murciano [“Without a Trace”] will play Sandra Bullock’s love “Miss Congeniality 2”.

  • Cary Elwes [“Hot Shots!”] and John Heard [“The Sopranos’] have joined the cast of “Edison” starring Justin Timberlake. Elwes will play a district attorney, and Heard will play the head of a special police unit.

  • According to Production Weekly, Laura Dern, Maria Bello and Erika Christensen will star in “The Sisters”, set in a Manhattan college, where three sisters and a brother long for the simpler life their family left behind in Charleston. They reveal their family secrets and self-deceptions with wit and absolute honesty.

  • Denzel Washington will re-team with his “Training Day” director Antoine Fuqua for “The Return of Superfly”, about Harlem heroin kingpin Frank Lucas.

  • IGNFilmforce have some info on the character Liam Neeson plays in “Batman Begins”, whilst Creature Corner has details on the SFX for “Seed of Chucky”.

  • Shia LaBeouf [“Holes”] is up for the lead role in “The Greatest Game in the World”, the movie Justin Timberlake recently passed on, Says Dark Horizons.

  • CHUD reports that "Hero" will be shown in full in the states, thanks to presenter, Quentin Tarantino.
