Creed spinoff centred on Drago in development at MGM

The “Rocky” franchise is set to get bigger with new “Creed” spinoff titled “Drago” in the works at MGM. Screenwriter Robert Lawton is working on the project.

Per Deadline, the plot details for the film are still under wraps, but reports say Dolph Lundgren will reprise his popular role as Drago (seen in 1985’s “Rocky IV” and 2018’s “Creed II”), as well as his son Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu), previously seen only in “Creed II”.

The “Creed” franchise (which in itself is a spinoff of 1976’s “Rocky”), began in 2015, and has Michael B. Jordan as the titular character. It will soon see “Creed III” released in early 2023, with Jordan also directing the picture.
