Daredevil duo snag jobs with Warner, Paramount

“Daredevil” twosome Steven S. DeKnight (first season showrunner) and Marco Ramirez (the newly appointed second-season showrunner), have landed high-profile gigs with Warner Bros and Paramount Pictures, respectively.
Deadline reports that Ramirez will write the long-gestating “Akira” for Warner, which recently emerged from development hell showing positive signs of life. Jaume Collet-Serra had previously attached to the picture but was forced out due to an escalating budget.

Meanwhile, DeKnight, who departed “Daredevil” at the end of the first season, has won a seat in the “Transformers” writing room at Paramount. He’ll be involved in formulating story ideas for various sequels and spin-offs to the hit franchise, beginning with the fifth (Michael Bay directed) ”Transformers” movie.
