Oscar winner Denzel Washington is in talks to reunite with his American Gangster director Ridley Scott on the upcoming Gladiator sequel, Variety confirmed today.
If the deal closes, the Equalizer star would join Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan, whose participation in the Paramount Pictures film was announced last week.
The pic, penned by David Scarpa, has been skedded for a November 22, 20124 release.
Paramount has dated the film for November 22, 2024.
Mescal will play Lucius, the son of Maximus’ lover Lucilla (Connie Nielsen), in the sequel. Keoghan is in negotiations to play Emperor Geta. Washington’s role is being kept under wraps.
