Dwayne Johnson reunites with Fast & Furious scribe for Christmas movie

Amazon Studios production rumored to be Santa-centric

Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions have set up the Christmas-themed feature “Red One” at Amazon Studios.

The project, written by “Fast and Furious” and “Hobbs & Shaw” scribe Chris Morgan, has been described as ”a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy, imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre”.

The project, which Johnson will headline, is due to begin filming next year and will hit in 2023.

“Red One” is based on an original story by Hiram Garcia, Seven Bucks’ president of production.

Said Johnson: “Hold my Mana, because this is exciting. Our Seven Bucks is very bullish on our partnership with Amazon Studios; underpinned with some innovation, some pioneering and a lot of positive energy and passion. I’ve been very impressed with Jen Salke and her team’s vision and ambition to create an enormous, fun and unique Red One holiday universe for families around the world to enjoy.”
