“We’re Shooting that in Australia” : Vin Diesel on Riddick 4

“Fast & Furious” star to resurrect another of his popular characters

Vin Diesel’s intergalactic sunglasses spruiker has been absent from our screens for about a decade. In a new interview with Games Radar, the “Fast & Furious” star suggests that that may soon be rectified, with plans for a third sequel to “Pitch Black” in development.

“It’s so funny, I was just wearing my Furyion shirt,” said the actor of reprising the title role for a fourth “Riddick” movie. “David Twohy, he wrote a great script. It’s just a matter of timing when we get that opportunity to shoot that. But I believe we’re shooting that in Australia. And it would be the fourth chapter in that series, which would be awesome.”

In addition to the “Riddick” movies, original sci-fi classic “Pitch Black” inspired a couple of video games.

“We did have great success with Escape From Butcher Bay,” added Diesel. “It feels like an eternity ago now. But, I imagine that we would take advantage of the gaming space and add an extra chapter, but definitely, the [movie’s] script is already written. So it’s safe to say that we are moving towards filming the fourth chapter of Riddick.”

“Riddick”, released in 2013, opened to number one in its first weekend, with $19,030,375.
