Eisner doing The Brood

We reported yesterday that Universal’s “Creature of the Black Lagoon” remake was now in the hands of Carl Erik Rinsch, and not Breck Eisner (“Sahara”, the upcoming “The Crazies”) as was originally the case. So what’s Eisner doing instead of rubbing Turtle Wax onto a man in a fish suit?
The L.A times says Eisner (son of former Disney magnate Michael) is set to direct a remake of David Cronenberg’s stupendous “The Brood” (1979). The Cory Goodman-penned film will, like the original, tell of a lass who telepathically communicates with her group of mutant children, instructing them to act out violently. It was a bloody scary flick – – can only hope Eisner’s version is a watered down Xerox.

You can read more about Eisner’s “Brood” redo – and the “Creature from the Black Lagoon” remake he’s no longer doing – here.
