Emma Thompson takes a stand against Skydance

In an understandable move, to say the least, Emma Thompson has exited a voice role in a Skydance animated movie because of the studio’s ties to John Lasseter.

As you may recall, Lasseter, Skydance’s newly appointed head of animation, has been the subject of sexual harassment claims stretching back years. Thompson, not surprisingly, refused to collaborate with someone now known for “unwanted touching and hugging” on the job.

The Alessandro Carloni directed “Luck” concerns a battle between two organizations, one representing good luck and the other, bad luck. “Men in Black International” star Thompson was the head of the good luck organization.

Be interesting to see if Lasseter will remain at Skydance if his involvement in their projects starts to hinder rather than help them.
