Ernie Hudson talks Everything’s Jake and Ghostbusters 3

Clint talks to the veteran actor about his latest film

Clint here. Ernie Hudson has starred in many films, none of which is probably more popular than “Ghostbusters” (1985). We’ll get around to asking him about that rumoured third instalment shortly, but for the meantime, lets talk to the man about his new film “Everything’s Jake”, now available on DVD.

What appealed to you about the role in “Everything’s Jake?”
He was first character that seemed to be really free.

Did you do any research into your role?
Visited number of shelters, and organizations that help the homeless-spent time with them . I tried to spend some time as homeless-but it was difficult because people would recognize me.

Did you participationin the project mean something to the investors-did you involvment help get the project up?
I’m sure the project was made because of my involvment.

I imagine this would be a pretty emotional journey, how would you turn off at the end of the day?
After 40 years, I’ve learned to let go of characters-I know how to find my center- much harder 20 years ago

What do you hope “Everything’s Jake” accomplishes?
People watching get a sense of the homeless as being not that different from themselves-it’s about people having difficult circumstances

The readers would never forgive me if I didn’t ask one “Ghostbusters” question. Dan Aykroyd is apparently thinking of doing a new CGI ”Ghostbusters 3”. Would you be involved? Is the world ready for a new “Ghostbusters” movie?
The world is ready for another, whether or not I am involved is up to Dan. So far I am not. I’d love to be a part of it, but never assume that I will be.
