Farrah Fawcett (1947-2009)

The hair-flick is dead.

Farrah Fawcett, the beautiful blonde bombshell who adorned many a teenagers’ wall and set hearts-a-racing as the feisty fighting fox on “Charlie’s Angels”, has sadly passed away.

The 62-year-old actress lost her battle with cancer this morning. Ryan O’Neal and Alana Stewart were at her bedside.

Long-time love O’Neal has released the following statement : “After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world.”

Regrettably for Farrah – or maybe Farrah’s fans – Michael Jackson’s death is going to take center stage with the media…. But ya know what, maybe that’s better. Maybe her family would like to grieve without as many cameras on them as they’d normally have on them in such a situation. Maybe it isn’t a show for the world. … and it doesn’t make Farrah’s death any less significant, or tragic.  I’m rambling…

She will be dreadfully missed. My deepest condolences to Fawcett’s family, friends and fans.
