“Scream” star Jack Quaid has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer biopic. The son of actors Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan joins Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett and Cillian Murphy, who is set to star in the title role as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who ran the Manhattan Project that led to the invention of the atomic bomb, in the July 21, 2023 release.[More…]

If a sequel happens – and it will, let’s be honest here – to “The Batman”, director Matt Reeves plans to keep things grounded and realistic, even if it introduces some of the wackier villains from the Caped Crusader’s history. “In my view, I just feel drawn to finding the grounded version of everything. So to me, it would be a challenge in an interesting way to try and figure out how that could happen, even the idea of something like Mr. Freeze, that is such a great story, right? I think there’s actually a grounded version of that story, which could be really powerful and could be really great. So, I love the fantastical side of Batman, but this iteration, obviously, while being, to me, I think it is very comics faithful, but I don’t think that this one is necessarily, it doesn’t lean as hard into the fantastical, I guess. But I think to me what would be interesting would be to try and unwind the fantastical and see, well, how could that make sense here? And so that’s kind of my view, how I see it.” [More…]

Three new clips from “Run & Gun”, starring Ben Milliken, Brad William Henke, Janel Parrish, Mark Dacascos, Celestino Cornielle, Angela Sarafyan, Alison Thorton, Hudson Yang, Michelle Campbell, Ari Barkan, Rafael Cebrián, and Richard Kind, have been released to coincide with the Digital release today.

After leaving a life of crime and violence, Ray is a reformed good guy, enjoying a quiet family life in the ‘burbs. But when his past is discovered, Ray is blackmailed into one last job to collect a mysterious package. After a deadly double-cross, he finds himself wounded and on the run from ruthless assassins who will stop at nothing to get what he has. Focus Features and Working Title announced their latest collaboration POLITE SOCIETY, which recently wrapped production in London.  The film marks the feature debut for its director/writer Nida Manzoor, creator of the hit Peacock series “We Are Lady Parts” which was just picked up for a second season. POLITE SOCIETY is produced by Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and Parkville Pictures’ Olivier Kaempfer, with John Pocock as executive producer. The creative team is composed of cinematographer Ashley Connor, and many of Manzoor’s We Are Lady Parts collaborators, production designer Simon Walker, costume designer PC Williams, make up & hair designer Claire Carter, editor Robbie Morrison, and casting director Aisha Bywaters.

DOG is a buddy comedy that follows the misadventures of two former Army Rangers paired against their will on the road trip of a lifetime. Army Ranger Briggs (Channing Tatum) and Lulu (a Belgian Malinois dog) buckle into a 1984 Ford Bronco and race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier’s funeral on time. Along the way, they’ll drive each other completely crazy, break a small handful of laws, narrowly evade death, and learn to let down their guards in order to have a fighting chance of finding happiness.

She believes she must save her sister from the shackles of marriage in the only way she knows how, by enlisting the help of her friends and attempting to pull off the most ambitious of all wedding heists in the name of freedom and sisterhood. Polite Society is a merry mash up of sisterly affection, parental disappointment and bold and bloody action.

Ryan Kwanten and J.K. Simmons are set for supernatural horror movie “Glorious” from director Rebekah McKendry.

The film, which is near done, has the following plot. Kwanten plays a young man who is spiraling out of control after a bad breakup. His situation worsens after he finds himself locked inside a rest stop bathroom with a mysterious figure (J.K. Simmons) speaking to him from an adjacent stall. As he tries to escape, he realizes he is an unwilling player in a situation bigger than he could have imagined. [More...]
