First look at the new Robin, Boy Wonder!

Let’s face it, Robin is the gunk at the bottom of the sneaker of the “Batman” series. The big guy is, and just will always be, cooler – even in his Adam West guise.

If there’s one thing fans of the caped crusader don’t seem to be that keen on it’s, well, Joel Schumacher but also, the Boy Wonder and luckily for them, ‘Dick’ hasn’t been on the big screen since Schumacher’s nip-tastic but ill-fated “Batman & Robin” over a decade ago.

Love him or loathe him, as many seem too, there’s no denying ‘Robin’ is still a huge part of “Batman” lore – and if the caped wonder at the center of Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” film series was to ever have a sidekick, it’d be Robin, naturally. But how to do Robin without him coming across as a whiny, unappreciative handbag? that’s the challenge…

Maybe you do him like the creators of ”Batman : Arkham City” videogame have? As you’ll see from the newly released pics below, this ‘Robin’ looks more Eminem than Chris O’Donnell and, though obviously I’d want to see a bit more before making my final decision, think he might just fit in fine in Nolan’s “Dark Knight Rises”… if they’ve plans to include him (which I don’t believe they will). Surely Nolan and the videogame designers keep in touch to make sure nobody’s overlapping and just to keep tabs on what each other are doing in their respective worlds of the Bat, right!?

Meantime, what do you think of the “Arkham City” Robin? And for that matter, should he be included in the next “Batman” movie?
