Five Fingers for Marseilles director doing new Merlin

Michael Matthews, the director of critically acclaimed South African western “Five Fingers for Marseilles” and recent Dylan O’Brien genre jaunt “Love & Monsters”, is set to direct Disney’s “Merlin”.

This latest adaptation of T.A. Barron’s novel series where King Arthur’s wizardry mentor is at the center of the story. Ridley Scott had been attached to direct an earlier incarnation.

Gil Netter is producing from with the latest draft by Chris Weitz of “American Pie” and “About a Boy” fame.
