One of the hot offerings on the table at Cannes this year, per Deadline, is Miramax’s “Here”, a film adaptation of the Richard McGuire graphic novel that will feature the “Forrest Gump” tream of Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, writer Eric Roth and director Robert Zemeckis. It’s the first collaboration for the quartet since the 1994 Best Picture winner.
Sony Pictures are believed to be circling the hot property, planning a 2023 theatrical release for the prospective awards contender.
Beginning production in September, “Here” is described as a breathtaking and revolutionary odyssey through time and memory. The innovative story is centered around a place in New England where from wilderness, and then, later, a home – love, loss, struggle, hope and legacy play out between couples and families over generations.
